As written by one of the members of the IE developer team on the site Reddit said that the name change is being considered internally. There are many ideas of how to separate yourself from the negative perceptions that will no longer appear in our products now.

Later, Microsoft is more incentive to demonstrate that the browser application can easily compete with major competitors such as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

Versions 10 and 11, for example, shows Microsoft wants to make its browser as the superior choice for users who want to 'stick' with the default browser integrated into Windows.

On the other hand, Microsoft still faces challenges in promoting the latest version of their browser. The software giant never had the experience of not wearing when version 6 is shipped with Windows XP is considered failing.

Despite being under consideration, the Microsoft IE team do not yet know what the name fits, if IE is going to be replaced.
